This research aims to establish a health systems policy framework to inform the development of a Rights-Based Approach to healthcare for Indigenous peoples in Canada. The intent of the policy framework is to be adapted and contextualized by health system actors within their respective provincial or territorial jurisdictions across Canada. This work builds on earlier research undertaken by Richardson and Murphy (2018) entitled, Bringing Reconciliation to Healthcare in Canada: Wise Practices for Health Care Leaders.
Led by GCWP-IH and an Indigenous Circle of Experts, the following Principled Recommendations for Co-Developing Digital Health Evaluations with First Nations, Inuit, and Metis Communities was presented to Health Canada in February, 2023:
